Helping parents create freedom, focus, and family connection through homeschooling.
Custom Homeschool Design for Families Who Value Education and Freedom
You know traditional school isn’t the right fit anymore. You also refuse to gamble with your child’s education. At HomeGrown Minds, we design data-driven, personalized homeschool plans so your child can thrive academically at home without you spending months researching, second-guessing, or piecing it together alone.
You're Not Anti-School. You're Pro-Your-Child
You’ve done everything “right” up to this point.
You value education. You’ve trusted the system. You’ve tried to make it work.
But lately, you’ve started noticing:
- Your child’s curiosity and confidence fading under tests, labels, and long days.
- Evenings that feel more like recovery than connection.
- A growing sense that school is shaping your child’s experience of themselves more than their love of learning.
- Pulls toward a different path—but no clear way to make it feel solid, structured, and safe.
You’re not interested in reactionary choices, scare tactics, or education as a political battleground.
You want:
- More time with your kids without sacrificing rigor.
- A calmer rhythm to your days without losing structure.
- A learning environment that protects their mental health and challenges their mind.
If you’ve been thinking, “We can’t keep going like this, but I don’t know what to do instead,” you’re exactly who HomeGrown Minds was built for.
You’re not failing your child, you’re just missing a plan.
Most parents who want to homeschool get stuck on the same questions:
- “What if I mess this up?”
- “What if my child falls behind?”
- “How will I know if what we’re doing is working?”
- “Can I really do this while still working and living my life?”
So they stay in limbo:
- Researching late at night.
- Saving posts and PDFs.
- Asking questions in Facebook groups.
- Wondering if homeschooling is only for people with unlimited time or a teaching degree.
You don’t need to become a professional educator to homeschool.
You need a professional educator in your corner and a clear, evidence-based plan.
That’s what we do here.
A Private, Data-Driven Education Plan, Designed Around Your Child and Your Life
At HomeGrown Minds, every decision starts with real information, not guesswork.
We combine:
- Comprehensive surveys to understand your child, your family, your rhythms, and your values.
- Academic assessments to pinpoint exactly where your child is thriving and where they need support.
- Standards-aware curriculum planning to ensure your child stays on track academically—without replicating the limitations of the classroom.
From there, we design a homeschool plan that:
- Aligns with your child’s learning needs and temperament
- Fits your actual schedule and capacity
- Protects both rigor and mental health
- Gives you a clear path for what to do on Monday morning
No more cobbling together ideas from the internet and hoping it works.

How We Work Together
Step 1: Discovery Call
We discuss your child, your current school situation, your goals, and what you’re considering for next year. This is a space to ask questions and see whether The Homeschool Launch or Private Homeschool Advisory fits your needs.
Step 2: Assessment & Intake
If we decide to work together, you’ll complete parent and learner surveys and, when appropriate, your child will complete an academic assessment. This gives us a clear starting point.
Step 3: Custom Plan Design
For Launch clients, we design your first-month plan and launch flow.
For Advisory clients, we build and refine a complete, ongoing framework for your homeschool year.
Step 4: Ongoing Support (Advisory)
Advisory clients receive regular check-ins, data reviews, and plan adjustments so their homeschool stays aligned, effective, and sustainable.
Homeschooling Done Well Is a Strategic Advantage For Your Child
When homeschooling is intentional and structured, research shows:
Higher Test Scores
Homeschooled students often perform 15–25 percentile points higher than public school students on standardized academic tests.
Stronger Critical Thinking & Independence
They tend to demonstrate greater self-motivation, problem-solving, and real-world adaptability.
Academic Success Beyond K–12
Many homeschooled students are just as likely—or more likely—to attend and succeed in college.
Your intuition about a better path for your child is valid.
Our work together is about making that path academically solid and thoughtfully designed.
Meet Meghan Garfield
Founder of HomeGrown Minds
Homeschool mom. Instructional designer. Education consultant. Co-op Founder.
I’m Meghan, a homeschool mom and educator based in Sarasota, FL. My entire career has been devoted to designing education that actually works for real humans—not just systems.
Before starting HomeGrown Minds and founding Mindful Leaders Academy (a homeschool co-op serving ~50 students), I spent over 15 years in education as:
- A classroom teacher (including AICE Cambridge, gifted, and intensive ELA)
- A new-teacher coach and department head
- An instructional designer and director, building curriculum and departments for universities and education companies
- An education consultant, helping organizations create scalable, effective learning models
I hold a Master’s in Instructional Design and Technology from the University of Tampa and have worked across K–12, higher education, government, and private providers.
Now, I bring that experience directly to families who want a high-quality, data-driven homeschool education for their children—without sacrificing their home life or sanity.
My approach is:
- Secular and inclusive – open to families from all backgrounds
- Pro-teacher, not anti-school – I understand and respect the system; I also see its limits
- Objective and measurable – we make decisions from actual data, not just vibes
- Deeply personal – every plan is built around your child and your family, not a template
If you’re ready to explore a structured, professional path into homeschooling, I’d be honored to walk through it with you.
Ready to Explore Homeschool?
You don’t have to unravel this alone or hope you’re doing enough. Whether you’re in the “something needs to change” stage or already set on homeschooling but need structure, we can look at your options together and build a plan that feels clear, realistic, and academically sound.
